Terms & Conditions
Effective from: 15th December 2025
These Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between you and Scooby's Clearance Team when you book any waste removal, clearance, skip bag collection, Hiab uplift or related services. By using our services, you agree to these terms, so please read them carefully.
About Us
Scooby's Clearance Team is a registered waste removal and clearance service operating across London and Essex. We hold a valid Waste Carriers Licence, full public liability insurance, and operate in line with UK environmental, waste handling and health and safety regulations. Our services cover residential, commercial, industrial, renovation and garden waste removal, skip bag collections, Hiab lifts, man-and-van clearances, and responsible disposal of non-hazardous waste.
Definitions
To keep things clear:
- "Company" / "We" / "Us" refers to Scooby's Clearance Team
- "Customer" / "You" refers to any individual or business using our services
- "Services" means any clearance, waste removal, skip bag hire, Hiab collection, or related work provided by us
- "Waste" includes rubbish, household items, mixed waste, commercial waste, garden waste, building debris and other removable materials unless restricted under UK law
Booking and Service Requests
How to Book
You can book by phone, email or through our website. A booking is only confirmed once we provide written or verbal acceptance.
Access Requirements
You must ensure clear, safe access to the site. If access is blocked, unsafe or restricted, we may refuse service or charge additional fees.
Accurate Information
You must provide accurate details about the waste type, amount, weight, location and any special requirements. If the information is incorrect, we may adjust the price accordingly.
Same-Day Services
Same-day clearance is subject to availability. We aim to respond quickly, but no guarantee is made unless confirmed at the time of booking.
Pricing and Payment
Pricing Structure
Prices are based on:
- Amount and type of waste
- Labour time
- Access difficulty
- Skip bags, Hiab lifts or van capacity used
- Additional costs such as parking, permits or congestion zone charges
Payment
Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer, cash and company invoicing for approved accounts.
Deposit
We may require a deposit for larger clearances, commercial jobs or pre-booked skip bag collections.
Additional Charges
Extra fees may apply for:
- Heavy or bulky waste
- Restricted items
- Delayed access
- Extra labour
- Parking fines incurred due to customer instructions
Waste Types We Cannot Remove
Under UK regulations, we do not handle hazardous waste, including:
- Asbestos
- Chemicals, solvents or oils
- Clinical or medical waste
- Gas bottles
- Pressurised containers
- Paints or flammables unless fully dried
- Explosive or corrosive materials
If such materials are found during the job, we may refuse service and charge for attendance.
Loading & Labour Responsibility for Waste
All waste must be safely accessible. We reserve the right to refuse items that are unsafe to handle.
Maximum Weight and Lifting
Our team follows UK manual handling rules. If an item exceeds safe lifting limits, you may need additional labour, a Hiab lift or alternative arrangements.
Customer Assistance
For health and safety reasons, customers must not assist with lifting unless agreed and safe to do so.
Skip Bags, Skip Hire & Hiab Collections
Skip Bag Positioning
Skip bags must be placed on accessible ground, free from obstructions and suitable for Hiab lifting.
Overfilled Bags
Overfilled bags may be refused due to safety limits. You may be charged for re-packing or additional bags.
Hiab Access
The crane requires vertical and horizontal clearance. We may refuse collection if the site is unsafe or blocked.
Cancellations and Amendments
Customer Cancellations
You may cancel up to 24 hours before the booking without charge. Less than 24 hours notice may incur a fee to cover travel and lost booking slots.
Company Cancellations
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule due to:
- Unsafe conditions
- Severe weather
- Staff illness
- Vehicle issues
- Legal restrictions
We aim to notify you as early as possible.
Liability & Insurance
Insurance Cover
We hold full public liability insurance covering accidental damage during service. However, this does not cover:
- Pre-existing damage
- Items damaged due to poor condition
- Hidden defects or unsafe structures
Customer Property
We are not responsible for:
- Items accidentally left in waste piles
- Keys, documents or valuables mixed with rubbish
Please check thoroughly before our team loads the waste.
Third-Party Property
If access requires crossing neighbouring land, you must obtain permission. We are not liable for disputes or access issues.
Recycling and Disposal Practices
We follow all UK Environment Agency rules for waste handling. Our commitments include:
- Recycling as much waste as possible
- Using licensed waste transfer stations
- Providing responsible disposal
- Avoiding fly-tipping at all times
We may refuse waste that violates UK environmental regulations.
Photographs & Evidence
We may take before-and-after photos for:
- Proof of service
- Insurance documentation
- Training or quality checks
- Marketing (only with permission)
No personal data is included without consent.
Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Ensure safe access
- Identify restricted or hazardous materials
- Secure pets or children away from work areas
- Pay all agreed fees promptly
Damage to Property
We take great care, but we are not liable for cosmetic damage caused by:
- Tight entries
- Narrow hallways
- Low door frames
- Fragile flooring
- Unstable structures
If risk is present, we will notify you before proceeding.
Complaints Procedure
If something goes wrong, contact us within 48 hours with:
- Job date
- Address
- Issue description
- Supporting photos
We will investigate and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Privacy & Data Protection
We comply with UK GDPR. We only collect information to:
- Confirm bookings
- Provide quotes
- Communicate updates
- Process payments
We never sell or share your data with unauthorised third parties.
Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by events outside our control, including:
- Extreme weather
- Vehicle breakdowns
- Road closures
- Public emergencies
- Accidents
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions follow the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved through UK courts.
